The Secrets of Acupuncture to Improve Fertility Men and Women

You may already be familiar with acupuncture. Yes, acupuncture therapy comes from China. Acupuncture is a traditional practice that involves inserting a small needle into the body to cure disease. Benefits of acupuncture was not only to cure disease, but also can increase the fertility of male or female.

For couples who've been wanting to have a baby, infertility is a very unpleasant news. Fortunately, there is a therapy that has been trusted for centuries to help, namely acupuncture.

"Although not a drug that reacts instantly, acupuncture can help patients to have a healthy and fit body. A fit body is one of the requirements to overcome stress as a result of infertility, and can increase pregnancy number and quality of life" said Dr. Jamie Grifo, director of the New York University Fertility Center and director of the division of reproductive endocrinology at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City.
Besides relieving stress, Lilienfield said that acupuncture can help increasing the fertility of women by increasing blood stream to the ovaries and uterus. Increasing blood stream helps thicken the lining of the uterus, thus increasing the chances of conception.

Acupuncture can also help improve the body's neuroendocrine system disorders. Acupuncture can help the brain activating to release hormones that stimulate the ovaries, adrenal glands and other organs involved in reproduction. Acupuncture effects on neuroendocrine systems may also help infertile by stimulating the production of sperm.

Research from the Journal of Endocrinological Investigation also found that women with polycystic ovary syndrome and men with infertility problems who have no known cause can also benefit from acupuncture.
