Things That You Should Do and Don't When You Have Headchache



Do you often get headaches? If you often experience headaches, should not be underestimated. Because if you have a headache, then the activity will be disrupted. Pressure of work, or when you have a problem is one of the factors triggering headache.

Therefore, to reduce the symptoms o headache, you should know what you should do and don't when you have headache :


The best thing to do
1. Eating a balanced diet. Be sure to consume the nutrients that can prevent headaches such as magnesium (a mineral found in foods such as fish, grains, and avocados), calcium, riboflavin and vitamin B2.
2. Ice compress on the forehead to constrict swollen blood vessels and relieve headaches caused by tension. If the result of a sinus headache, try a warm compress for 15 minutes as much as 3-4 times a day. 
3. Neck and shoulder massage to relieve tension, can be done by yourself or ask a friend or a professional massage therapist.
4. Stretch at least 5 minutes a day to increase flexibility and minimize muscle strain. Start with the feet, ankles and up the arms, torso, neck, shoulders and face.
5. Exercise regularly to reduce tension and improve blood flow. In addition to helping the heart, the brain releases endorphins that can affect mood and reduce headache pain.
 

Thing should not be done 
1. Do not skip meals because the brain depends on glucose to function. Keep your blood sugar levels stable by eating regularly.
2. Avoid foods that contain tyramine amino acid thought to trigger migraines as a result of the blood vessels constrict and expand. These foods include meat, chocolate or hot dog.
3. Do not take aspirin or pain medication is too much. This is because it can make people with drug dependence, if the pain is gone then he will come again with more intense.
4. Do not reduce the time to sleep, because of excessive fatigue are the main triggers of tension and migraine pain.
 
5. Do not delay to go to the doctor especially if the headache is more than 3 times in one week, the headache is severe enough to need medication, headache or stiff neck accompanied by fever, shortness of breath, dizziness, slurred speech and drowsiness can be symptoms of serious disease.
